Visit of the FRM-II

Wednesday September 12, 2001, 13:30h -17:30h

In the framework of the ICNS 2001 we invite you to visit the almost finished new research neutron source FRM-II at Garching. After the lunch break all interested participants of the ICNS have access ( passport / identity card needed, no drivers licence! ) to the future guide hall. Cameras (photo and video) are not allowed inside the FRM-II. A cloak room is provided for you at the entrance to leave your bags.

Inside the guide hall you have the possibility to discuss with instrument scientists showing their work in progress. From the guide hall a 20 minutes guided tour in small groups starts through the reactor hall and up to the visitors lookout for the reactor basin. In order to avoid waiting times, we would like to use the numbered badges all visitors get at the entrance to build the small groups. You will easily recognise the meeting point for the tour in the guide hall with a notice which numbers may have the tour next. After the tour you can return to the guide hall again for further discussions.

From 15:00h to 18:00h a bus shuttle service to the Fröttmaning subway station (U6, subway every 10 min) is available.
